Govt. plans to launch mobile tender by July end (France)
www.WirelessFedration.com/news: President of telecom regulator Arcep said that the government still intends to launch the tender offer for frequencies set aside for the country’s fourth mobile phone license before the end of July.
The only official candidate for the license is lliad. Numericable and Virgin Mobile France said they were considering the possibility to bid jointly.

Virgin Mobile posts a subscriber base of 5.38Mn at 2008-end (USA)
Virgin Mobile USA, has reportedly added 216,000 subscribers in Q4′08 taking its subscriber base to a total of 5.38 million at 2008-end, rising from 5.1 million at 2007-end. The prepaid MVNO has posted a churn rate of 4.8% at Q4′08-end, down from 5.5% in Q3′08 and 5.1% a year earlier.
